Neighbors,
Happy Holidays! I hope you had a great Christmas and look forward to a joyful 2024.
I am writing on behalf of the HOA Board of Directors to give you all a preview of our coming yearly Neighborhood HOA meeting. The meeting is targeted for Feb 13 at Dieringer Heights Elementary. Please save the date, but the venue isn’t confirmed yet so wait for official confirmation from JC Higgins.
Here are some things you can expect the see at the coming meeting:
- Budget discussion: We will go over last year’s budget vs expenses as usual, and also go over the new budget for 2024. There are a couple of key features to the 2024 budget.
- For 2024 we were (sort of) able to keep dues at their current levels. I say “sort of” because last year was exceptionally dry and we significantly overran our watering budget. So, this year we are putting a deferred increase in dues in place which will only be triggered in the fall if we experienced another exceptionally dry year.
- In 2023 we had an increase in unpaid dues and septic expenses. It is unfair to the paying homeowners to have to cover for non-paying homeowners – so in 2024 we will be increasing efforts (including legal actions where necessary) to recover unpaid bills.
- A call for HOA board volunteers: As you know, HOAs depend on a neighborhood volunteer Board of Directors to operate. This year we will need 2 to 3 new HOA board volunteers. If you are at all interested, or just want to learn more to see if you are interested, please contact me directly via FB Messenger or an email to qwhoa1@gmail.com.
Thank you in advance for coming to the meeting to learn more about your neighborhood, give your input, and to consider serving as a volunteer.
Thanks,
Mark Pampe and the QW HOA Board
